Fueling The Movement
A Social Justice Group
Fueling The Movement is an activist group I began back in June of 2020 with some friends in response to the Black Lives Matter protests, as well as the constant stories of police brutality and LGBTQ+ injustices. Our mission is to fuel others by spreading awareness of the beauty of diversity, with the goal of a future infused with equality for all. We do this by interviewing and sharing stories with people of various backgrounds, people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and other minorities struggling to be heard. Check out our Featured Fuel interviews to listen in.
The Creation Process
Being passionate about both design and activism, I was able to combine these two throughout the creation of this project. From the logo and web design, to our presence on social media, I created a cohesive look and feel to the Fuel brand. The black and white treatment used on most of the imagery throughout our social media presence is meant to convey a more serious tone, while adding pops of color here and there throughout the designs to soften the mood. Working with a team of five, we each play different roles in order to make Fuel what it is. My main job entails cutting and editing the interview footage to add to our YouTube channel, as well as creating all the graphics used for our Instagram & Facebook.
